Please text the following photographs to our HIPAA-protected encrypted line: 314-222-0601.
Photographs should be taken in good lighting with your hair pulled back (if applicable). These images assist our anesthesia providers in evaluating facial structure, neck anatomy, and airway characteristics, which are essential components of our anesthesia protocols. Additionally, these airway photographs can supplement the standard pre-anesthesia airway assessment and play a role in assessing BMI guidelines related to weight management prior to your procedure.
Patient Name and Date of Birth, height and weight, and BMI guidelines are essential for assessing overall health. We also need to know if they have a history of reflux or are currently experiencing reflux. Additionally, it's important to check if they are on a GLP-1 or phentermine, and to confirm whether they have sleep apnea or use a CPAP machine for weight management, which is often relevant in anesthesia protocols.
This information is collected solely for clinical use, including adherence to anesthesia protocols and BMI guidelines, and will either become part of your medical record at the treating facility or be securely shredded after use, in accordance with applicable privacy and HIPAA requirements related to weight management.
Your safety is our top priority. If you have a higher BMI, a dedicated pre-operative anesthesia consultation ensures your care is tailored exactly to your health profile.
